During the earlier part of the pandemic, the demand for video conferencing had gone up many times as most people were working from home.
In response to customers’ request, Google had offered Google Meet at no cost for anyone to use. And there was no limit to the length of conference time.
That promotion officially ends 30 Sep 2020. Individual users can still use Google Meet at no cost for conference calls up to 60 minutes from now on.
However, users who subscribe to the G Suite collaboration tools will not be affected and can continue to host and use Google Meet video conference over the Internet.
In addition, G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education users are able to access:
- Larger meetings for up to 250 participants per call
- Live streaming for up to 100K viewers within domain
- Record meetings to Google Drive
