IT services jobs has declined in June

CompTIA has reported that IT services and customized software development has lost about 20,000 jobs in June (over May).

CompTIA explained that most of the firms offering IT services and customized software development are smaller-sized companies, hence they are susceptible to changes in business sentiments affected by the pandemic.

But overall, there is still a gain of employment in the IT industry for the month.  IT products manufacturing sector added 7,300 jobs.  This is probably due to increased demand for tech products for employees working from home.

The other sectors that saw gains includes data processing, hosting and related services and other information services category, which includes search engines and portals.  These services are pivotal in the overall trend of companies migrating to the cloud in their digital transformation journey, and doing more data processing and analytics to improve business efficiency.
